Professional liability insurance
with HDI-Gerling Firmen und Privat Versicherung AG, Charles-de-Gaulle Platz 1, 50679 Köln.
As per the German Federal Lawyers Act, attorneys are required to maintain a professional liability insurance with a minimum insurance sum of 250,000 EUR. The details are found in Article 51 of the German Federal Lawyers Act.
Geographical scope: Germany and other European countries. The following are insured: liability claims arising out of (1) activities in connection with the consultation and application of European law; (2) activities of the attorney in front of European courts. Worldwide in the amount of the statutory minimum insurance amount for liability claims made by the policyholder in front of non-European courts. The insurance coverage does not include liability claims arising out of activities from offices set up or maintained in a non-European country.
Supervisory authority
The partners of the law firm have acquired the necessary qualifications to carry the professional title of “attorney” in Germany. They are members of the following Bar Association, which also serves as the supervisory authority:
